TRENTO – The Trentino Universiade is nearing its end, and with it comes the last institutional events. This morning, 20 December, the last Heads of Delegation meeting took place, in the theater of the SanBa University Centre in Trento.
The morning session started with the intervention of Stefano Ravelli, Deputy Secretary-General of the Organizing Committee, who has discussed the programme of the Closing Ceremony to be held in Alba di Canazei. After the speeches by the Italian authorities, organizers and FISU President, Granada 2015 will pick up the baton as the next organizer of the Winter Universiade. The event will be closed with the cultural programmes of Granada and Trentino.
Ravelli ceded the floor to Ubaldo Prucker, Trentino WU’s OC responsible for sport related issues, who has thanked and praised the efforts of the organizers, and athletes who have managed to hold competitions smoothly and on time. He has also mentioned the only two serious injuries that have occurred during the Universiade, as the only negative point.
After his intervention, Pablo Gomez, Technical Director of Granada 2015, has summarized the sports, accommodation and transport plans for the next Winter Universiade.
Kairis Ulp and Milan Augustin, from FISU, and Filippo Bazzanella and Sergio Anesi, from the OC Trentino 2013, have closed the meeting, thanking the work of the organizers, volunteers and delegations in the Universiade. Sergio Anesi has described the event as “an opportunity for new friendships and for relations with other nations”, a friendship that, according to him, will continue in the future.
