Granada 2015 Volunteers continue their Training

22 January 2014

GRANADA Nearly thirty Universiade volunteers have participated in the organization of the Ternua Snow Running Sierra Nevada, a night race in the snow which was held for the third time in Granada’s famous ski station.

After several events in the capital, the volunteers returned to the snow last Saturday to inaugurate 2014 while collaborating in a unique competition, a running race in the snow. The race, organized by ‘Mamut Sierra Nevada’, was developed in a snow circuit of more than 11 kilometers on an altitude of 760 meters.

The day began at one in the afternoon with a trip to the ski resort to face early preparations: placement of signage, tent assembly and installation of the finish area, etc. During the competition, the volunteers participated in tasks such as the distribution of bibs and supplies and wardrobe organization. After dinner came the awards ceremony capping off a day of fun, friendship and work, before returning home.

The training and appointment of volunteers for the 2015 Winter Universiade continues. Once again the volunteers returned to work in the Sierra Nevada, one of the competition venues of the Universiade, where they were already present last year during the Final of the FIS Snowboard and Freestyle World Cup.
