The number of staff has also increased by 190, totaling in 370 members working in preparation for a successful competition.
Newly established divisions include Support Division (supporting all games operations), Facilities Operations Division (operation and management of athletes’ village and TIMS), Cultural Events Division (production of cultural events in line with Gwangju’s cultural background), and Marketing and International Affairs Division (strengthening marketing and international communication).
The 10 new departments include the security sector, in line with safety control enhancement for a successful international event, as well as the Human resources & volunteer department to recruit and care for the volunteers of the global event. Other departments also include media, sports coordination, athletes’ village, opening and closing ceremonies, international affairs, and more.
