LAUSANNE – The dates for the 28th Winter Universiade in Almaty, Kazakhstan are known. The FISU Executive Committee has accepted the dates proposed by the Almaty Organising Committee. The FISU Winter Games will be held from 29 January to 8 February, 2017.
Besides the compulsory sports of alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, snowboarding, biathlon, figure skating, short track, curling and ice hockey, the OC will organise four optional sports, i.e. freestyle skiing, speed skating, ski jumping and Nordic combined as well. The sport of bandy will feature as a demonstration sport also.
