ALMATY – FISU President Claude-Louis Gallien and Secretary-General/CEO Eric Saintrond are currently in Almaty, Kazakhstan where they join the Technical Committee experts (CTI). The purpose of the visit is to hold a series of meetings with the Almaty government officials, the ministry and also to discuss the preparations for the 28th Winter Universiade. The main objective of the CTI led by its chair Roger Roth is to review the sports event preparation process. The FISU delegation consists of International experts from different sports areas, Medical Committee, Media and Communications department, Eurosport TV channel crew and IT-specialists.
The CTI experts will inspect the sport venues planned for holding the Games to assess the level of preparation for staging the Games on the International level. The Technical Committee will evaluate the existing sport venues and will review the construction process of venues that are yet to be built. Also, the committee members will assess the Organisation Committee’s activity for staging the Winter Universiade in Almaty at the present stage of preparations.
The expert committee has scheduled visits to the health care facilities and the National Anti-doping Center with consecutive discussion of the medical supply organization and doping tests issues during the Games.
The programme also includes inspection of the Media broadcast center and IT solutions that are being organised for the Winter Universiade.
