GWANGJU – The 2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade Organizing Committee (GUOC) and the Korea Broadcasting System (KBS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding for KBS to be named the Host Broadcaster for the Gwangju Summer Universiade. The MOU signing took place at the KBS headquarters in Seoul on 15 April, 2014.
The two co-chairmen of the GUOC, Kang Un-tae and Chung Ui-hwa, and the Vice-President of KBS, Ryu Hyun-soon, signed the MOU on behalf of each organization.
As the Host Broadcaster for the Gwangju Universiade, KBS will be in charge of operating the International Broadcasting Center, which is the center of international signal production of all competitions and the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as supporting all international and national broadcasters.
The 2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade will take place for 12 days from July 3rd to 14th, 2015 in the city of Gwangju, with more than 20,000 participants from 170 countries.
