BAKU – Today, 30 April, Kim Yoon-Suk, Secretary-General of the Organising Committee of the Gwangju Universiade gave an update of the preparations so far for the Universiade being hosted in the Korean city next year.
Mr. Kim elaborated on the media services at the upcoming student-games. Ranging from accreditation and visas to accommodation and catering, as well as modes of transportation for the reporters working at the next Summer Universiade.
The Main Media Center (MMC) will be located in theKimdaejungConvention Center. Media will arrive atIncheonInternationalAirportinSeouland have the choice to transfer toGimpoAirportfor an in-country flight to Gwangju or take the KTX high speed train that will bring them within 1h40 to Gwangju. The Media will be lodged in theMediaVillageand adjacent hotels within 14 minutes travel distance to the MMC. Media transportation during the Universiade will be done by dedicated media shuttle busses and public transportation.
Mr. Kim also dwelled on the Legacy programme of the Universiade, including the FISU Young Reporters’ Programme and the Anti-Doping E-Textbook development.
