UPPSALA – Wednesday, 7 May was set as the ‘University Day’ during this inaugural World University American Football Championship. All teams were invited by Uppsala University and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences to attend a couple of hours’ information about the city’s universities and possible future studies here.

In the grand auditorium of Uppsala University, Pernilla Björk, director of communication at Uppsala University, greeted the players and attending coaches. Though the tournament seems to be taking its toll on the players, the teams were an attentive audience and some took the chance to make inquiries about how to become a student in Uppsala.

At the end of the presentations Martin Söderberg, Project Manager for the 2014 WUC, concluded by reminding all players that they could come back to Uppsala both for studies AND to play American Football with the team Uppsala 86ers.

After the information Uppsala University opened up its impressive faculty floor and the players also got the chance to visit Museum Gustavianum, where many of the old university treasures can be seen, among other the old anatomical theatre from the mid 19th century.
