FISU continues Inspection of Preparations for Gwangju 2015

GWANGJU – The FISU International Technical Sub-Committee for the Summer Universiade (CTI-UE) is diligently carrying out in-depth inspection of the 2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade, with the games about a year away.

The delegation, headed by Mr. John Warnock (FISU CTI-UE Chair), consists of Technical Delegates per sport and members of the FISU Secretariat. The delegation is divided into 3 groups and has been conducting inspection visits since May 29th.

Despite the visit occurring over the weekend, the FISU staff, the Technical Delegates, the OC staff and the NSF representatives continued their in-depth discussions about the preparations for the 2015 Summer Universiade.

Group B including 6 sports (badminton, diving, golf, judo, rowing, and taekwondo) commenced their visit on June 2nd and will continue until June 5th. Subsequent, group C will be inspecting the remaining 6 sports from June 7th to June 10th. A final closing meeting will be held on June 11th, wrapping up the CTI-inspection visit with all relevant OC departments including sports, venues, transportation, catering, accreditation and other related functional areas.
