LEGNICA – Yesterday, 4 July, during the second competition day, the contenders of the 10th World University Archery Championship fought for promotion to the today’s finals of the individual competitions and also for the bronze medals in the team competitions, which were won by Japan in women’s recurve, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in men’s recurve, United States of America in women’s compound and Turkey in men’s compound.
Today, 5July, the gold medal were at stake.
Gold in recurve men and women went to Louis Alvarez (MEX) and Tan Ya-Ting (TPE). Gold in compound men and women went to Vladyslav Bolshakov (UKR) and Katia D’Agostino (ITA). The recurve men team from Chinese Taipei also climbed the highest podium as well as the recurve women’s team from Korea. Gold was also won by both the Korean recurve mixed team and the compound mixed team. And Korea got another gold with its compound men’s team, while Mexico took the gold in the women’s compound team competition.
Worth noticing is the fact, that this 10th World University Archery Championship has gathered the biggest number of student-archers in the history of this competition. 206 students- athletes competed in Legnica.
