11th WUC Wrestling – Day 1 of Competitions

Opening Ceremony 

PECS – Yesterday, 8 July, the 11th World University Wrestling Championship in Pécs, Hungary kicked-off. Although between the elimination rounds and the finals there was an opening ceremony, everybody was paying attention to the fight on the mats on Tuesday.

After the first day of competitions, student-athletes from 10 countries mounted the medal podium n the categories Freestyle 57, 65, 74 and 97 kg, i.e. HUN, JPN, MDA, MGL, POL, ROU, RUS, TUR, UKR, USA

The 11^th World University Wrestling Championship hosted in Pécs will continue on Wednesday 9 July from 14.00 with the FS 61, 70, 86 and 125 kg and with FW 48-55 kg.
