GWANGJU – The Organising Committee of the 28th Summer Universiade in Gwangju, Korea has been very busy lately attracting partners for the 2015 Universiade. Recently, some major players on the Asian market have signed sponsorship agreements with GUOC 2015 to join forces.
On 12 August, Kwangju Bank, the local bank in the city of Gwangju, joined the team to support the successful hosting of the 2015 Student Games. Kwangju Bank will provide a variety of financial services such as management of funds for games operations, money exchange for participating delegations, receipt of participation fees, and so on. At the signing ceremony, Chairman Yoon said, “It is very reassuring that the representative bank in our area, the Kwangju Bank, has become the official sponsor for the Gwangju Universiade.” He also added, “We hope to cooperate together for the successful hosting of the Games.” Kim Jang-hak, president and CEO of Kwangju Bank, stated, “We will provide the best financial services for the participants coming from more than 170 countries.” He also expressed his anticipation for the games and said, “I expect that we have the opportunity to leap over boundaries and become a global bank through the Gwangju Universiade.”

GUOC 2015 also signed two big names in the textile industry safeguarding the clothing of staff, officials and volunteers.
On 4 September, the Himalayan Original Outdoor brand “Black Yak” signed the official sponsorship for the 2015 Gwangju Summer Universiade. As an official sponsor of the Universiade, Black Yak will combine the concept of the Games with the Black Yak unique designs to produce jackets, t-shirts, hats, sneakers, and other sportswear. These uniforms will be worn by torch relay runners, volunteers, operating and security staff.

Besides Black Yak for sportswear, the OC previously added LF Corp for formal wear to its partners. LF will design and produce all formal uniforms, including suits, shirts, and ties for officials, judges, and awarding agents.
