FISU Representatives meet with 2016 WUC Boxing Organisers

6 December 2014

CHIANG MAI – At the occasion of the 4th WUC Weightlifting held in Chiang Mai (THA), FISU Vice-President Leonz Eder, chair of the CTI-CMU and Julien Buhajezuk from the WUC Department had a chance to meet with the President of Chiang Mai University, professor Niwes Nantachit as well as Mr. Preecha Prayoontat vice-president of the University Sport Board of Thailand on 5 December, Thailand’s King’s birthday. Chiang Mai University (CMU) will host in 2016 the 7th World University Boxing Championship, and it was a chance for FISU to reinforce the relation with the Organising Committee after having already had a working meeting during the last WUC Boxing in Yakutsk (RUS) where an important Thai delegation had attended the observer programme.

The meeting was attended by the vice-president for international relations and alumni affairs, the vice president for student development and the vice-president for university social responsibility of Chiang Mai University demonstrating the comprehensive dimension the 7th WUC Boxing 2016 has taken for Chiang Mai and its public university.

Further to discussions concerning the date of event, currently planned in October 2016, the services and the promotion of the competition, a primary inspection of the venue was held.

The next preparation stage of the WUC Boxing will be the participation of the organising committee to the 2016 WUC seminar to be held in May 2015 in Brussels.
