Beijing candidate for the Winter Universiade 2021?

STRBSKE PLESO – As part of the monitoring programme implemented during this 27th Winter Universiade, a delegation from Beijing has conducted an inspection visit of the sports venues and host of the 27th Winter Universiade in Strbske Pleso, marking its interest in a possible candidacy of the city to host the 2021 Winter Universiade.

Conducted by the organizers of the Winter Universiade (Slovak part), the delegation was also able to attend the information session involving our future organizers including a large delegation from Krasnoyarsk, Russia (2019 Winter Universiade). Although the multi-sport event organizers are working in very different political and cultural environments, they face the same challenges and face the same problems. Therefore the observation programme is essential. It must allow the Organising Committees to benefit from all the experience accumulated over the years.

The delegations participating in the monitoring programme may still visit the site Osrblie tomorrow before meeting again in Granada, Spain for the continuation and end of the information session and knowledge transfer.
