GRANADA – A large delegation representing the 2019 Krasnoyarsk Winter Universiade Organizing Committee met this Friday, 13 February with FISU President Claude-Louis Gallien, First Vice-President Oleg Matytsin, Secretary-General/CEO Eric Saintrond and Director of the Winter Universiade, Milan Augustin.
Mr. Edkhal Akbulatov, Mayor of Krasnoyarsk and member of the Organizing Committee of the 29th Winter Universiade in Krasnoyarsk, Russia, wanted to personally and officially present a review of the progress made in the preparation of the event. President Gallien congratulated and encouraged the OC to continue the excellent cooperation with the technicians of FISU. The FISU Secretary-General/CEO proposed the Mayor to make a visit to the broadcast centre and press centre set up in Granada, stressing the importance of promoting the Universiade in the coming four years. 1st Vice-President Oleg Matytsin praised the efforts of the Organizing Committee and urged the Mayor to propose the no-sporting events of the Universiade, an academic conference and a rich cultural programme that allows students to discover this beautiful region of Russia.

The Mayor listened carefully to all the remarks of the FISU representatives and confirmed the full support of his city for the organization of the Universiade.
He then visited the sports venues in both Granada and Sierra Nevada.
Next month, the FISU representatives will meet in Krasnoyarsk for the first inspection visit of the International Technical Committee.
