Registration for the 28th FISU Conference Gwangju 2015 is now open

GWANGJU – Along with the Summer Universiade, the FISU Conference Gwangju 2015 will be held from July 11 to 14 at Honam University. FISU, Gwangju 2015 Universiade Organizing Committee (GUOC) and Honam University is in the process of organizing the four-day academic conference. With the support and cooperation of the Korea Society for History of Physical Education, Sport, and Dance (KSHPESD), the FISU Conference Gwangju 2015 will be a platform not only to stimulate research on university sport but also establish a global network within the academic and sporting community.

The main theme of this year’s conference is: ‘The Impact of University Sport on the Global Community’.

Sub-themes are:

⦁ ‘University Sport and its eco-environmental impact’

⦁ ‘University Sport, humanity and social development’

⦁ ‘University Sport and innovation through information technology’

⦁ ‘University Sport and global education developments’

The themes discussed in the conference focus on the study of university sport further elaborated with keynote addresses, poster presentations, paper-presentation workshops, and discussion groups. In addition, participants will be able to attend the Universiade Closing Ceremony and experience Gwangju and South Jeolla Province culture through group tours.

Participation is open to anyone interested in sports as well as individuals in sports research and development, professors, students, and athletes.

Early registration is open from January 1 to March 31. General registration will be accepted from April 1 to May 31 (participants traveling from Korea can register from April 1 to June 30). Submission for oral paper and poster presentations is from March 1 to April 15.

Early registration fee is US$150 (EU€120), general registration is US$200 (EU€160) and on-site registration is US$250 (EU€200). Registration for students is US$100 (EU€80). The registration fee includes welcome and farewell service at the host city entry points (Gwangju airport, bus terminal, and train station), transportation to and from the Conference venues and official hotels, welcome and farewell banquets, lunch (for 2 days), coffee & tea, welcome kit, and official publications. Accommodation and travel costs to Gwangju are not included.
