Almaty Vice-Mayor visits FISU HQ

LAUSANNE – Yesterday evening, 12 June, Mrs. Zauresh Amanzholova, the Vice-Mayor of Almaty, and Mr. Ilya Urazakov, Director General of the International events in Almaty and Director of the 2017 WU, visited the FISU HQ in Lausanne at the occasion of the presentation of their bid to the IOC for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games. The discussion about the preparation of the 2017 WU was very fruitful. The common goal of the high authorities in Almaty is to fully focus on the 2017 WU right now and to present a detailed report during the upcoming EC meeting in Gwangju (KOR).

The Vice-Mayor mentioned that the concept of all these sporting events in Almaty has one very common goal and this is the legacy for the population and especially the children of Almaty and the whole country. The 2017 WU will be the first step of this huge legacy and this will present a real change for all inhabitants.
