2017 WU: FISU CSU successfully completes Inspection Visit

ALMATY – The FISU WU Supervision Committee (CSU) has concluded its inspection visit in Almaty, host city of the 2017 Winter Universiade. During the meeting the outcomes of the visit were summed up and the preparation of the Organising Committee was evaluated.

The FISU Delegation was comprised of CSU Chair Marian Dymalski, CSU Vice-Chair Kairis Ulp, Winter Universiade Director Milan Augustin, Winter Universiade Executive Assistant Jiho Kim and Winter Universiade Assistant Paola Forni.

FISU WU CSU Chair Marian Dymalski FISU WU CSU Chair Marian Dymalski praised the preparation for the 2017 Winter Universiade. In his speech, he expressed his confidence in a successful staging of the Games.

“We are satisfied with the preparation level and accomplished work of the Organising Committee. During the week we visited the venues for the Winter Universiade. I think that the 2017 Winter Universiade will be at a high-level. We received a good impression of the city and Kazakhstan“, stressed Marian Dymalski.

During the week the delegation of FISU inspected the venues of the Winter Universiade including the ‘Sunkar’ International Ski jumping Complex, the ‘Alatau’ Cross-country Skiing and Biathlon Stadium, the Ice Palace with a 12,000 seating capacity, the Athletes’ Village etc. Besides, the FISU Supervision Committee discussed a series of questions concerning the different functional areas of the Organising Committee.

It should be noted that in the framework of its visit, the FISU Supervision Committee met with Mayor of Almaty Bauyrzhan Baibek. During the visit the representatives of FISU expressed their satisfaction with the construction progress of the venues and discussed the further cooperation plan.

Following the visit, the 2017 Winter Universiade Director Asset Abdualiyev noted the importance of the FISU CSU visit for further effective preparation for the Games.

“We express our gratitude to the Supervision Committee members who accomplished a huge amount of work during the week. All the recommendations are very important and useful”, stressed Asset Abdualiyev.
