TAIPEI CITY – In the midst of all the preparatory works for the 2017 Taipei Summer Universiade, FISU’s International Technical Committee, CTI visited Chinese Taipei for the second time. Deputy CEO, Chun-Ming Xue, led the Taipei Organizing Committee to give a presentation of the overall progress to the FISU Summer Universiade Director Marc Vandenplas and Chair of the FISU Summer Universiade International Technical Committee Jean-Paul Clemençon.

Mr. Xue, gave special thanks to the FISU delegates for providing the valuable suggestions of last meeting in May, enabling the Taipei Universiade Organizing Committee (TUOC) to continually correct its preparatory direction. FISU reminded TUOC that this is the last venue inspection visit before the official start of the event. “FISU’s team is ready to provide as much help and guidance as possible. We hope that the Taipei Summer Universiade Organizing Committee will make the best use of this opportunity to resolve all the issues in this inspection visit.” Director Marc Vandenplas said.

The CTI visit takes 2 weeks from 9/23 to 10/2, 17 international technical officials led by the Chair Jean-Paul Clemençon will arrive in 3 tiers. They will review the competition, the set-up, and the sports display of practice venues for 14 different sports including Badminton, Diving, Fencing, Water Polo, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Artistic Gymnastics, Roller Sports, Swimming, Archery, Baseball, Football, Basketball, Athletics, and Volleyball. Also, the ICT (Information& Communication Technology) meeting will be conducted during this visit. General Managers of each sport will be evaluating the standard of all the equipment to meet FISU’s requirements.
