VKontakte Social Network Becomes an Official Information Partner of the 29th Winter Universiade-2019

KRASNOYARSK – VKontakte social network (vk.com) has become the official social network of the 29th Winter Universiade Krasnoyarsk 2019. VKontakte users will now have the opportunity to join in preparations for the Universiade in Krasnoyarsk, get the latest news about the event, and discuss the successes of Russian athletes.

The Directorate of Winter Universiade Krasnoyarsk 2019 and VKontakte social network signed a cooperation agreement that covers the period through 2019.

“Cooperation with VKontakte, a very popular social network, will give us more opportunities to reach out to more young people and give them information on recent news and events,” said Maksim Urazov, Director General of the Directorate of Winter Universiade Krasnoyarsk 2019.

In honor of the new partnership, the Ambassador of Winter Universiade Krasnoyarsk 2019 and Olympic Figure Skating Champion Alexey Yagudin will host an online videochat at 7 p.m. (MST) on November 16. Subscribers of the official group of Winter Universiade 2019 will have an hour to put questions to the famous athlete, learn more about the life of a professional athlete, Mr. Yagudin’s new projects, his family and more. Anyone who logs onto the  in VKontakte will be able to take part in the video chat regardless of their physical location.

VKontakte is the largest European social network with more than 380 million registered accounts. Every month, the social network has an audience of 90 million users. As of today, there are about 40,000 subscribers in the Winter Universiade 2019 group in VKontakte. Every day, subscribers get the latest news on preparations for the Universiade, the start of new programmes and testing events, and can participate in trivia games and contests.
