1st Day in Almaty for FISU President

ALMATY – Shortly after his arrival in Almaty, FISU President Oleg Matytsin‘s went on an unofficial inspection visit to the Athletes’ Village. Accompanied by Sergey Buikevich, the OC representative in charge of the Village, and Jiho Kim, WU Executive Assistant at FISU, the President had a chance to ascertain that the Village is ready to host the national delegations. Mr Matytsin inspected the dining hall, the living rooms, equipment storage facilities, gym and other locations of the Village. A special attention was paid to the anti-doping and medical facilities. The visit also included the attendance of the museum and other leisure opportunities for student-athletes.

Speaking to the media after the tour, the FISU President positively assessed the Athletes’ Village. He also left an encouraging note for Universiade participants and citizens of Almaty at a special board.
