ALMATY – Since the Athletes’ Village opened yesterday, 24 January, the accreditation process has been set in motion and is currently in full swing.
“We started slowly yesterday with 146 accredited persons from 5 countries”, Tarmo Jaakson (EST) from the FISU International Control Committee (CIC) said. “Mainly team officials. That’s normal as they arrive first to prepare their delegation’s stay. This morning however, we already have a full house in the accreditation centre at the Village as athletes are coming in as well. As we speak, some 100 Kazakh athletes are being processed.”
In the next days the accreditation centre will become very busy with some 2,500 participants from more than 50 countries arriving.
