FISU representatives will discuss in Krasnoyarsk the results of the Winter Universiade 2017 in Almaty
From May 20 to 26, the delegation of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) is visiting Krasnoyarsk. As part of another working visit of guests to the region’s capital, the debriefing will be held concerning the results of the Winter Universiade 2017 in Almaty.
Debriefing – is a meeting, based on the structured recommendations and expert opinions on the results of the Universiade in Kazakhstan. The main purpose is to review and analyze all successful moments of preparation and holding the event, as well as challenges faced in Almaty to be considered by the Winter Universiade 2019 Organising Committee team.
The delegation includes Milan Augustin, FISU Director for Winter Universiade, Roger Roth, Chairman of International Technical Committee (CTI), Dusan Hamar, Chairman of FISU Medical Committee, as well as the team of specialists, that were involved in organization of the Games in Kazakhstan, headed by Bakytzhan Sadykov, Deputy Director of the “Executive Directorate of the 28th Winter Universiade Almaty 2017”. The event was also attended by Sergey Seyranov, the President of the Russian Student Sports Union.
“It is very important for us to hold the debriefing on the threshold of the Games. The meeting with colleagues will allow to examine the experience in organization of major sports events, define the aspects, which require special attention. We came back from the Winter Universiade 2017 in Almaty with a huge bundle of knowledge and positive emotions. Upcoming days of co-operation will help us to prepare for the major sports event. Krasnoyarsk is living in anticipation of Winter Universiade 2019, and we must do our best and hold the event at a high level”, – noted Maxim Urazov, the Director General of the “Executive Directorate of the 29th Winter Universiade Krasnoyarsk 2019”.
During the debriefing, the colleagues from Kazakhstan will share their experience in all functional areas of the Games – “Medical care”, “Venues”, “Sports programme”, “Marketing”, etc. Together with FISU members the critical points in competitions’ organization will be elaborated, in order to avoid them in the future, particularly during the Winter Universiade 2019.

“The Winter Universiade 2017 in Almaty became the first international multi-sport event in the history of independent Kazakhstan. We saw how seriously Russia took the holding of the Summer Universiade 2013 in Kazan and also were scrupulous about the preparation of this event in our country. The Universiade is the event that promotes the values of physical culture and sports, as well as the healthy lifestyle among the young people” – said Bakytzhan Sadykov, Deputy Director of the “Executive Directorate of the 28th Winter Universiade Almaty 2017”.
Also, during the visit a series of working meetings will be held, where FISU members and Executive Directorate’s members will discuss the Winter Universiade 2019 sports programme, competitions schedule, transport logistics, accommodation plan, daily schedule of venues operation, etc.
