Get on the fast track to sport event management excellence

26 January 2018

There’s still time to sign up for the International FISU Volunteers Programme. Those selected won’t be fetching coffee; you will hold a key position that ensures a successful the 2018 FISU World University Championship series event

As the sports industry grows – in size, prestige and complexity – putting on successful major sports events requires a skilled and passionate workforce. To help build a cadre of industry-leading sport managers around the globe, the University Sport leaders launched the International FISU Volunteers Programme in 2016. Since then the programme has been a great success, and one you can become a part of today.

Designed and developed with the aim to offer volunteers the possibility to gain experience at an international sport event and develop event management and communication skills, the International FISU Volunteers Programme also checks off another vital necessity: networking.

The WUC Speedskating is one of the first competitions on the 2018 Calendar, taking place in Minsk, Belarus from the 22-25 March

Creating worldwide contacts within the international University Sport community while showcasing your work ethic and leadership skills under the crucible of putting on an event has already opened new doors and employment opportunities for attendees.

This programme assists 2018 FISU World University Championship organising committees as they benefit from having an outsiders’ vision on their event that is informed by already having sport volunteer experience in important organisational areas.

Imagine yourself working alongside FISU and event organisers who put on incredible events like WUC Beach Volleyball in places like along the Baltic oceanfront in Estonia here, or in Munich this year

It’s not just the young future leaders of sport that benefit from this programme; it also allows 2018 FISU World University Championship organisers to benefit from a youthful outsiders vision on their event. When this new outlook is paired with sports passion and developing skills in key organisational areas, watch out as this is the incubator that takes sports events to a whole new level.

Want to know more? The 2018 FISU World University Championships programme is open to students from all around the world who are eager to develop as sport managers through event volunteer experiences.
