FISU Forum a first great test of Winter Universiade 2019 village

2 August 2018

KRASNOYARSK, RUSSIAN FEDERATION — With the FISU Forum coming to the upcoming Winter Universiade host city from the 6-10 August, the readiness of the Universiade Village and Universiade venues are ready to be put to the test as the premiere international conference on the confluence of sport, study and an active society comes to town.

During the Forum, FISU President Oleg Matytsin will be among those visiting the new and revilatised fields of play that will welcome the world’s best university sports competitors here from the 2-12 March.

Krasnoyarsk is ready to welcome the world to the city’s charms and passion for sports and school, starting with next week’s FISU Forum

It’s the Perya Dormitory Complex at the Universiade Village which will welcome FISU Forum guests for the first time ever during the August event. During the Forum, the Complex will be the home-away-from-home for official delegates and students. Organisers expect for more than 150 Forum participants from over 40 countries to be the first guests to use the Perya Dormitory Complex.

Leading technologies will be on display, and this includes a new electronic media accreditation system that will be tested here in anticipation for the test events leading into — and during — the  Winter Universiade.

The Forum participants shouldn’t go to bed back at the complex hungry as they will be served three complete meals a day with dishes of Russian, European and Asian cuisine. Catering services will be organised by Regional Nutrition Centre, which will also serve the participants of the Winter Universiade 2019.

International FISU Forum attendees will be first greeted in Krasnoyarsk with a new airport terminal

FISU Forum guests will also check out the quality of transportation services provided at Sheremetyevo International Airport. Dedicated welcome desks for Forum guests will be among the first experiences they have in the Universiade host city. In addition, Forum participants will have tour services, sports and cultural programmes provided throughout the five day event.

The local Krasnoyarsk volunteer forice will be in for a test during the Forum as well. More than 200 volunteers of the Winter Universiade 2019 from the Krasnoyarsk Territory and other regions of Russia will be involved in delivering the events. Volunteers will assist in 23 areas of work and partake in all the main activities of the FISU Forum, from reception of delegates at the airport to holding of cultural and sports events.

Perhaps the preparedness of Krasnoyarsk to welcome the world to Siberia will be from their highly trained and motivated group of volunteers
