BIALA PODLASKA, POLAND – The FISU World University Weightlifting Championship is held at the University of Physical Education and Sport in Biala Podlaska, Poland, on 20-23 September 2018.
The official Championship Opening Ceremony took place on Wednesday, 19 September. Over 200 participants from 27 countries as well as other guests were greeted during the festivities. The flags of all the participating countries were presented by student volunteers, followed by the speeches of Professor Jerzy Sadowski, the rector of the University of Physical Education and Sport, host university of the championship and Mr Leonz Eder, the 1st Vice-President of FISU.
The Mayor of Biala Podlaska Mr Dariusz Stefaniuk officially opened the event. The Ceremony was closed with the performance of the Student Folk Dance and Song Group Podlasie accompanied by Jazz Trio. The first competitions are going to take place at 14:00 on Thursday, 20 September. Find the full schedule of the event below.
