Online ticket platform for Lucerne 2021 Winter Universiade is now open

The online ticketing platform for the Lucerne 2021 Winter Universiade is now open and is accessible . Tickets can be purchased online for all sport competitions, the figure skating gala and the closing ceremony. The opening ceremony will be broadcast live on the Swiss SRF television network and will be screened at the onsite public venue. Most of the tickets are free of charge with the exception of the curling and ice hockey semi-final and final matches and the figure skating gala which will cost CHF 10. Tickets will not be sold at competitions and event venues.

 

To allow spectators to walk around and watch the competitions without wearing a mask, a covid certificate will be required to access the indoor events and spectators’ areas for outdoor events. This safety rule does not apply for spectators aged younger than 16 years old.

 

The FISU World University Games is the biggest international multi-sport events for student athletes. The sport event is staged every odd year and celebrates the University Sports Movement. This year the winter edition will take place in Lucerne on 11-21 December 2021 and sports competitions will be held in Central Switzerland and the Grisons. This edition is a joint project of the city of Lucerne and the cantons of Lucerne, Uri, Schwyz, Obwalden and Nidwalden. Around 1600 students from 50 countries are expected to compete in 11 sports disciplines. The Lucerne 2021 Winter Universiade is the first presential FISU events since the pandemic started. The next summer edition of the FISU Games are the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games which will be on 26 June-7 July 2022.
