FISU took a proactive step towards advancing its commitment to international collaboration and sustainable development by participating in the Erasmus+ Sport Info Session 2024. The event was hosted by the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) at the European Commission Headquarters in Brussels on 30 January 2024.
Representatives from FISU included FISU Director of Development and Healthy Campus, Fernando Parente and Sameer Janmohamed, FISU staff member coordinating Erasmus+ Sport projects. Additionally, recently elected FISU Executive Committee Member Duarte Lopes also attended representing the Portuguese Paralympic Committee. FISU joined over 500 delegates to explore new opportunities for collaboration, discuss potential partnerships, and gain insights into the latest developments in education, youth, and sport under the call for Erasmus+ Sport actions for 2024 co-funded by the European Union.
The call for projects from Erasmus+ Sport includes the European Union’s flagship program for education, training, youth, and sport. It offers a platform for organisations to foster cooperation, exchange best practices, and contribute to the overall development of individuals and communities.
FISU’s attendance at the Erasmus+ Sport Info Session reflects a commitment to staying at the forefront of international initiatives that promote education, youth engagement, and sustainable practices in sport. As FISU continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of university sports, involvement in events like this underscores its dedication to creating a positive impact on a global scale.
