Springboard Mentoring Programme

Dedicated to shaping the leaders of tomorrow

The FISU Springboard Mentoring Programme connects FISU Student Ambassadors with industry professionals from the FISU Family. Students (Mentees) are matched with their Mentors and these duos meet regularly online throughout the year. The Mentor supports the Mentee in their personal growth, development, and offers career guidance.

The FISU Springboard Mentoring Programme began in 2024 after a successful pilot programme was held in 2023. It runs from February to November each year. Applications for the coming year’s programme open annually in October.

Who can be a Mentee?

Currently the FISU Springboard Mentoring Programme is open to students who have participated in the FISU Volunteer Leaders Academy (FVLA), either in the current or previous year. Students who are accepted to the programme need to commit to meetings and have a good Internet connection. Students are accepted into the programme via an application process and must be supported in their nomination by their National University Sports Federations (NUSF).

The best thing about being a Mentee is to be able able to meet and share conservations with people who are in positions you would love to occupy in the future. The experience they share with you, being able to learn from them and from the mistakes they might have made in the past is invaluable. This builds your confidence and you start to believe that you will be able to succeed in life just like they did.

Who can be a Mentor?

Mentors within the Springboard Programme come from the FISU Family. FISU is always looking for professionals and leaders to join the Springboard mentor community. Being a FISU Springboard Mentor allows you to engage regularly with other FISU Family members and enables you to support the personal growth of young people.

The best thing about being a Mentor is meeting regularly with someone who has a fantastic potential and somehow being able to exchange about random topics and to offer guidance and support. In this process, we both end up learning from each other.
