Korea takes first Harbin WU gold
Today, February 19th, Korea pocketed the first gold medal of the Winter Universiade in Harbin, China. A fierce ‘Asian’ contest took in Heilongjiang Speed Skating Gym as women speed skaters fought very hard in the race to the 500m Speed Skating gold. Lee Sang Hwa beat all other skaters and became the first gold winner. China’s athlete Yu Jing got the silver and her compatriot Zhang Shuang settled for the bronze.

Korea won the second gold in Men’s 500m Speed Skating
Korean skater Lee Kang Seok won the second gold of the Games in the Men’s 500m Speed Skating. Yu Fengtong from China grabbed the silver while the bronze medal went to another Korean skater Mo Tae Bum.
