Figure Skating Gala of the WU: a Marvelous Spectacle

The Figure Skating competition of the 24th Winter Universiade ended yesterday. As it has become a tradition, the day after the competition, all medalists of the different disciplines participated in the Figure Skating Gala of the Winter Universiade, as well as some local skaters.

The Ice Arena of the Exposition Centre was sold-out and it was a grand show the skaters gave to more than 8,000 spectators who loved the spectacle. Especially the gold medalists – Yukari Nakano (JPN, women), Ming Xu (CHN, men), Alexandra Zaretski/Roman Zaretski (ISR, Ice Dance), Dan Zhang/Hao Zhang (CHN, Pairs) and Team Sweden (Synchro) – received ‘encores’ to show more of their skills.
