Long Track Speed Skating: Another Universiade Record Shattered

Women’s 1,000m
The spectators at the speed skating oval witnessed another All-Asian podium today. Gold and silver went to Chinese skaters Jin Peiyu and Yu Jing respectively. Japanese Nao Kodaira settled for the bronze. In her race for the gold, Jin Peiyu broke the Universiade Record set in 2007 (Torino) by Julia Skokova (RUS).

Men’s 10,000m
The Dutch are great speed skaters. That’s a fact. Also at this Winter Universiade they took home some medals. And today as well. Arjen Van Der Kieft took his second gold today on the 10,000m. His teammate Renz Rotteveel took the bronze, his second after a silver on the 5,000m. Artem Belousov from Russia wriggled himself between the two Dutch and took the silver.
