2009 SU Update: Volunteer Training Begins

On Saturday March 7th, the first part of general training of Universiade Beograd 2009 volunteers started. Training session will be held on the premises of Tourism College in Novi Beograd. The first session was a motivational training. More than 300 volunteers turned up. All training sessions are compulsory. They will be held every weekend until the beginning of the Universiade. Participation of volunteers in preparation for Universiade Beograd 2009 is one of the key factors for success of the biggest sports event in Serbian history.

At the moment, a team of 16,000 volunteers have joined forces to help organize the Universiade. For all those who are taking part in this project, the Universiade will be a unique opportunity to:

• Master new skills and gain new knowledge
• Work in a very dynamic surroundings
• Work as part of a young, keen and ambitious team

Until July 2009, volunteers will be engaged in different sectors:
• PR
• Marketing
• ITC
• Broadcasting
• Sports Venues
• Sport
• Transport
• Accommodation
• Protocol
• Volunteers

Apart from assisting in these sectors, volunteers are already doing community service and working at many sports events and promotions.
