The FISU Evaluation Commission for the 2015 Winter Universiade, led by FISU Assessor Leonz Eder and composed by FISU Vice-President Hassan Chikh, the FISU EC Members Marian Dymalski and Oleg Matytsin and CTI Chairman Roger Roth, arrived on April 6th in Granada, Andalusia, Spain.

After a first internal meeting they were guided to the Official Reception and Dinner Cocktail to the “Carmen de la Victoria Palace”, which offered a magnificent view to the famous Alhambra Monument. All the official speakers like Jose Torres Hurtado, Mayor of Granada, Francisco Gonzalez Lodeiro, Granada University Rector as well as the Representatives of the Government, Jesus Huertas and Antonio Martinez Caler, underligned the importance of the project “WU 2015 Granada” for the city, the University, the region of Andalusia and for Spain.

On behalf of FISU, Leonz Eder said that Spain has always played a major role in the history of FISU by hosting two Winter Universiades, one Summer Universiade and a huge number of World University Championships and European Universities Championships so far. “If Granada wins the bid to host the 2015 Winter Universiade, this will be a new milestone in this story of success”, Leonz Eder said. “Like you, we want to develop University Sports. That’s why we are not only here as an Evaluation Group, but also as your partners in order to prepare your presentation for the FISU EC Meeting to be held in Brussels on May 23rd”, Mr. Eder added. FISU Vice-President Hassan Chikh thanked the hosts for their warm welcome and hospitality.
