2010 FISU Forum: CESU Meeting – Day 1

In Vigo, Spain, the FISU Committee for the Study of University Sport (CESU) started its meeting on October 16th. Vigo will be the host of the 10th FISU Forum from June 21st to 26th, 2010.

The CESU Chair Mr. Gallien took part in a press conference at the city hall of Vigo together with Mr. Santiago Dominguez Olveira, Vice-Mayor of Vigo and Mrs. María del Carmen Cabeza, Vice-Rector of the University to promote the FISU Forum.

The Organizing Committee headed by the Vice-Rector welcomed officially the CESU members.

On the agenda of the meeting were the following items:

– the conclusions of the Conference of Belgrade 2009

– the Conference of the Winter Universiade – Erzurum 2011

– the work progress of the 2011 Conference in Shenzhen, P.R. China

– the 2012 FISU Forum in Taipei City, Chinese Taipei

The bidding process for the 2014 FISU Forum was also discussed.

The day ended by a visit at the University of Vigo that will welcome part of the activities of the 2010 Forum.
