2010 WUC Chess Update

So far, already 16 countries have sent their General Entry to the Organising Committee of the 11th WUC Chess to be held in Zürich, Switzerland, from September 5th to 12th, 2010.

The Swiss University Sports Federation still expects more countries to come although the deadline of the General Entry, March 5th, is over.

Important chess nations such as Russia and other Eastern European countries have not yet sent their intention of participation, but the OC in Zürich is optimistic to receive more entries and hopes to break the FISU record of participating countries at the WUC Chess.

At the moment, the following countries are registered: Algeria, Brazil, China, Great Britain, Iran, Japan, Kazachstan, Libanon, Mongolia, Netherlands, Nigeria, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, Sri Lanka and the host country Switzerland.
