2011 WU Erzurum Sport Science Conference

On March 16th, Kolë Gjeloshaj Director of Educational and Development Services, Chief of Staff to the President and Yvan Dufour, FISU Chief Editor had a meeting with the members of the Organising Committee of the Sport Science Conference that will be organized in the context of the 25th Winter Universiade in Erzurum, Turkey.

The purpose of the meeting was the preparation of the calls for papers, the finalization of the list of the key-note speakers, to go through the promotional plan and to visit the new conference center of the Ataturk University. This University Capacities has 16 faculties, 4 colleges, 3 institutes, 8 vocational schools, 15 research centers, and over 40 000 undergraduates and 5000 graduate students. The staff members are split between 1200 academic members and 1910 support staff.

The members of the Organising Committee will attend the FISU Forum that will be held from June 21st to 26th in Vigo, Spain. They will attend a meeting with CESU and present the Conference to the participants.

The Conference will be held from January 24th to 27th, the days prior to the 25th Winter Universiade. It is now four Universiades on a row that scientific conferences are organized in the context of the Winter Universiade becoming an event entirely integrated with this event.

The themes of the conference are the following one:

II/ The university sports and ethics

II-1/ Ethics for university sports and sport in general

II-2/ Ethics for society, science, world stability and peace

III/ University sports contribution to sustainable economic development and environmental concerns

III-1/ A platform for change in regional development

III-2/ A platform for change in nation-states development

III-3/ A platform for change in world development

IV/ Teaching and Training in winter sports

IV-1/ Teaching techniques and methods in winter sports

IV-2/ Science and Training in winter sports
