VIGO – The FISU World University Taekwondo Championship being organised in Vigo, Spain had the General Technical meeting followed by the Poomsae competition draw. FISU CT Ken Min led the meeting together with the remaining CISCA members and the Organizing Committee. After the introductions, specific information was provided from FISU Medical committee member Dr. Roland Questel regarding the medical assistance during the event as well as doping control matters that will be conducted according to the FISU Regulations and WADA Rules.
The meeting followed with the nomination of the Technical Committee that will be composed by Ken Min (FISU CT Chair), Franjo Prot (WTF Technical delegate), Jesus Tortosa (OC Technical delegate) and Salvador Fontan (OC Technical assistant delegate). The representatives chosen from the participating countries are Jung Kook Hyun (Korea) and Rex Hatfield (USA).
During the afternoon, the referees’ meeting took place under the supervision of the WTF Technical delegate Franjo Prot. A total of 34 referees from 16 countries are present at the event.
During the day, FISU EC member Kemal Tamer had the opportunity to attend a press conference promoted by the local organising committee together with the local authorities of Vigo and Galicia, as well as the local and national Taekwondo federations. Vigo City Hall, Galicia Government, Spanish and Galicia Taekwondo Federation all thanked FISU and forwarded the best wishes to all participants.
Tomorrow we will have the Opening ceremony and the Poomsae competition. The competition website will be updated regularly with the results.
