2010 WUC Handball Update: Day 5 of Competitions

NYIREGYHAZA – Yesterday, Friday July 2nd, ended the preliminary round of the 20th Men’s and Women’s World University Handball Championship. In Pool A host Hungary won against Serbia after a very hard game by 6 goals (31–25), becoming group winner and on Sunday they will play in the tournament’s final.

The opponent of Hungary will be the Czech Republic, as they won all four games of Pool B. The Czechs had an easy game against Ukraine winning by a diference of 11 goals.

The final will start on Sunday at 4 p. m. Before that Serbia and Japan will play for the bronze medal.

In the women’s tournament Hungary won again (this time against Poland by 11 goals), and the host team have to win one game only to became World University Champion. They will have to take two more obstacles: first they have to beat Czech Republic on Saturday or Turkey on Sunday.
