PORTO (POR) – With the last preparations to host the 4th World University Rugby 7s Championship in full swing, the Organizing Committee met with the CISCA today. Present at the meeting for the OC were Prof. Manuel Janeira, OC President and Mr. Bruno Almeida, OC Vice-President. They met with the CISCA members chaired by Mr Luciano Cabral, FISU Vice-President; Mr. Alberto Gualtieri, FISU Technical Chair for Rugby 7s; Dr. Tom Crisp, Medical Committee; Mr. Eugenio Meschi, CIC and Laurent Briel, Director WUC. They were also joined by Mrs. Beth Coalter, IRB delegate.
Mr. Meschi, CIC controlling the eligibility of the participantsAt the meeting the OC delegates gave an update of the preparations so far. Mr. Cabral thanked the OC for its hard work and professionalism.
The FISU delegates also visited the competition venue for a last inspection. Mr. Gualtieri and Mrs. Coalter were very satisfied with the quality of the venue.
In the meanwhile CIC member Meschi accredited the first arrivals.
