2010 WUC Futsal Update: Rest Day

NOVI SADThe Organizing Committee prepared for the FISU Family, FIFA Representatives, Referees, Heads of Delegation and Coaches a cultural tour around the monuments of Novi Sad.

In the morning the group visited the Petrovaradin Fortress. It is located in the province of Vojvodina, on the right bank of the Danube River. The cornerstone of the present-day southern part of the fortress was laid on October 18th, 1692, by Charles Eugène de Croÿ. The Petrovaradin Fortress has many underground tunnels as well a 16 km of underground countermine system. In 1991 the Petrovaradin Fortress was added to the Spatial Cultural-Historical Units of Great Importance list, and it is protected by the Republic of Serbia.

After this visit the group moved to the city centre for a short promenade across the Danube Park, Main Street and a short visit of the City Hall.

In the city Hal the FISU and FIFA representatives and HoD had a short meeting with Mr. Sasa Igic, Deputy Major. The city hall presented a souvenir to the distinguish guests. The FISU EC Member and CISCA Chair of the 12th WUC Futsal Mr. Dias presented Mr. Igic a FISU commemorative plaque.
