WROCLAW – Yesterday, September 19th, the 3rd edition of the World University Sport Shooting Championship came to an end and was officially closed with the traditional Closing Ceremony which was held right after the medal awarding ceremonies of the last competitions.
Mr. Marian Dymalski, FISU Assessor and President of the Organizing Committee thanked Mr. Manfred Woelke, the representative of the International Sport Shooting Federation; Mr. Leopold Kaluza, Competition Director and Mr. Tomasz Kwiecien, President of the Polish Shooting Federation for their work and remarkable support. FISU Assessor and CISCA Chair Mr. Sinisa Jasnic then took the floor to thank the organizers and especially the volunteers for their active participation in the success of this FISU championship. He then formally declared the 3rd World University Shooting officially closed.
It is generally felt that the WUC was a great success at all levels: transportation, housing, food and competition. Many athletes will return home with unforgettable memories of this event. As a tradition during the championships held in Poland, the last evening was devoted to a party for the volunteers.
As Sport Shooting will be an optional sport at the 2011 Summer Universiade in Shenzhen, it is already guaranteed that the level of competition will be very high. It is also interesting to note that many countries have been very largely interested in organizing one of the next editions.
