2011 WU Update – Day 3 – Short Track Speed Skating: Finals 500 m

ERZURUM – Yesterday, January 28^th, we witnessed an All-Asian podium in the men’s and women’s 1,500 m. Today, a more ‘international’ podum could be witnessed.

Final Women’s 500m

In the women’s final the audience witnessed a thrilling race where Canadian Valérie Lambert wriggled herself between the Asian short track powers and captured a silver medal, the firs for Canada. The gold went to a strong Xue Kong (CHN) while Korean Eun Byul LEE settled for the bronze.

Men’s Final 500m

In the men’s the gold went to French skater Thibaut FAUCONNET while Liam MCFARLANE grabbed a second silver for Canada. Chinese skater Ming GAO settled for the bronze.
