2011 WU Update -Day 7 – Curling

Team Norway

ERZURUM – In the men’s round robin session 8 Canada beat Korea 6-4, while Norway lost to Great Britain 4-6. Host Turkey beat Slovenia 9-3, a first curling victory for Turkey which without doubt gave them a mental boost. Team USA narrowly lost from Czech Republic 4-5, while Switzerland recorded a victory over Sweden putting a 7-4 on the scoreboard.

In the session 9, Team USA overwhelmed Slovenia 7-1, while Switzerland defeated Greta Britain 8-4. The Czech Republic narrowly lost from Korea 5-6 and host Turkey lost from Canada 2-7. The Scandinavian battle between Sweden and Norway was won by the latter 4-5.

In the women’s round robin session Canada beat Turkey 9-3. The Asian clash between China and Japan was won by the latter 7-5. Russia lost from Great Britain 2-7, while Germany narrowly beat Korea 6-5. The Czechs defeated Poland 13-4.
