2011 WU Update – Day 9 – Curling: Semi-Finals & Bronze Medal Game

ERZURUM – In the women’s semi-finals, Great Britain beat Japan 4-11, while Russia had a comfortable game against the Koreans, beating them 13-1.

Therefore the women’s bronze medal game turned out to be an Asian clash between Japan and Korea, which was finally won by Korea 8-5.

In the men’s semi-finals, Korea narrowly beat Czech Republic 5-4, while Switzerland won from Great Britain in another tight game 9-8. These results brought forward the bronze medal contenders, i.e. Czech Republic vs. Great Britain, while the gold medal game will be between Korea and Switzerland. The bronze medal game was won by Czech Republic who beat Great Britain 3-2.
