2011 WU Update Day10 – Alpine Skiing Women’s Slalom

Gold for USA

ERZURUM – February 5th- The Alpine Skiing competition continued today in Konakli with the Women’s Slalom with 81 competitors coming from 28 different countries. With a sunny weather and hard snow the skiers were quite happy.

The first run was dominated by the US skier Sterling Grant followed by Jana Gantnerova (SVK) and Aleksandra Klus (POL).

During the second run, Sterling Grant managed to keep her advantage and took the Gold Medal. Aleksandra Klus made a fantastic second run (1) and moved to Silver. Finally, Jana Gantnerova finished third.

In the Women’s Combined Ranking, Erika Ghent (USA) gained the Gold Medal followed by Chiarra Carratu (ITA) and Aleksandra Klus (POL)

The Competition will continue tomorrow with the Men’s Slalom.
