BRIVE-LA-GAILLARDE – Yesterday, November 7th, the 5th World University Rugby 7 Championship was presented to the local press during a press conference inBrive-la-Gaillarde (Corrèze),France. Brive, famous for its rugby team engaged in theFrance’s Top 14, will host from 11 to 13 July this FISU event in the Stade Amedee-Domenech.
Delegates of the organizing committee gathered in the VIP lounge of the City ofBriveto present the project to the various media. The following persons attended the pres conference: Jacques Fontanille, President of the University of Limoges and Chairman of the Organizing Committee:André Pamboutzglou, Deputy Mayor of the city of Brive; Robert Penalva, Vice President of the General Council of the Correze; Jean-Louis Boujon, Vice President of the French Rugby Federation; Roger Fite, President of the Territorial Limousin; Laurent Briel, Director of the FISUWorld University Championships; Monique Paulou, National Director FFSU and Vincent Rognon, Deputy National Director in charge of rugby at the FFSU (accompanied by Lionel Lascoux, FFSU Regional Director and co-director of the event and Damien Bardot, FFSU Director of communication and partnerships); Jean-Michel Martinet, Regional Director of Youth and Sports and Social Cohesion and Jean-François Teyssandier, Chairman of the Departmental Committee Olympic and Sports. All of the participants reaffirmed their commitment and support to make this event a great success.
After lunch, all participants went to the Rugby Committee for the Limousin for a working meeting devoted to the different aspects of the organization:finance, catering, transport, accommodation, communication, partnerships, ceremonies and general logistics.
