Spanish Golfers dominate 14th WUC Golf winning all the gold

Women’s Team Podium

 

LIBEREC – The University golf players from Spain won in all categories. The Men’s competition was dominated by Pigem Xammar Carlos, who also gave himself beautiful birthday gift, with a total result of 270 shots. Second placed is David Booth from Great Britain with the result of 273, together with Spaniard Juan Sarasti Bernarasem. After the third round, Swede Ericsson Philip finally ended on 4th place. The best Czech Milan Vantuch ended on 31st place (285). 

In the women’s competition Camila Hedberg Bertrand of Spain won masterfully, in front of the Americans Amy Anderson and Caroline Powers.

The Spanish also dominated the team competition winning the gold in the men‘s and women’s team tournament. In the Men´s Team tournament, Team Great Britain ended second and Ireland third.

In the Woman´s tournament the silver went to Team USA and the bronze to Germany.

At the medal ceremony, which took place after the final round in the Ypsilon Golf Resort, souvenirs were alse exchanged between the representatives of the Organising Committee and FISU. 

Guy Praplan from Crans-Montana, Switzerland, host of the 15th edition in 2014, received the FISU flag from FISU EC member Tai-Chen Cheng.
