MOSCOW – Kazan 2013 volunteers of the city of Moscow met shooters arriving for the 4th World University Sport Shooting Championships at Moscow’s airports and helped them to go through customs control.
Athletes from Cyprus, Hungary, France, Korea, Mongolia, USA, South Africa, Switzerland and other countries have been arriving over the entire weekend in Kazan where the 4th World University Shooting Sport Championship will be held from September 4th to 9th. The first people to welcome the shooters to Russia were the Kazan 2013 volunteers of the city of Moscow; they helped the 2012 WUC Shooting Sport participants to get around the Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo Airports, complete the forms of customs control and board their Moscow-Kazan flight. Last week the volunteers underwent the orientation training event, received uniforms and were assigned to their shifts.
Yulia Silenko, volunteer manager in Moscow, said that all volunteers are in a good mood, glad to greet foreign delegations and perform their duties efficiently. Anna Shilova was chosen as one of the best volunteers based on the results of the shift; she took initiative in resolving ongoing matters and responsibly performed all allocated tasks. 474 Kazan 2013 volunteers will be used across 20 functional areas during the 4th WUC Shooting Sport. The championship is the second competition that will test most services and areas of responsibility ahead of the 2013 Games.
