HOHHOT – Almost a year prior to the start of the 13th World University Taekwondo Championship, Paulo Ferreira, FISU Director of the WUC Department and Ken Min, FISU Technical Delegate for Taekwondo visited Hohhot in the Chinese province of Inner Mongolia to inspect the venues and other infrastructures that will be used for the event.
This edition will be the last for Taekwondo on the programme of the World University Championships since the sport is incorporated in the mandatory programme of the Summer Universiade from 2017 onwards. The event receives the unfailing support of the local organizers and the Chinese University Sports Federation (FUSC) represented by Mr. Shen Zhen, also a FISU Committee member.
The FISU representatives were impressed by the quality of the sports facilities that are being prepared to set a new FISU participation record in individual sports that was already set in Korea at the previous WUC Taekwondo edition in 2012 with more than 500 participants competing.
